Lighting
Why use Lighting in film?
Lighting has three main purposes in film: it helps the audience where to look in a scene, it reflects the psychology of the subject being filmed and it can help define the genre of the film.

Key Light Only
Here I used the Key light and it casts a shadow on the left of Lewis' face. This works well but I think that it wouldn't work well for a "how to" video are it casts to many shadows.
Fill Light Only
Here I used the fill light which is normally used as a secondary light used with the key light but we used it on its own to cast a shadow on the left of his face. I don't like this as much as the key light only shot as the shadow seems to harsh on this shot.
Back Light Only
We used the back light on its own here and I don't think it works well on its own as it makes the top of Lewis' head overexposed but that may be due to the IOS on the camera being too high. It also doesn't evenly light up the background as it is in front of the background.
All 3 Lights
Using all 3 lights together is the best as the light can be distributed evenly and there aren't many shadows which for a "how to" video can be distracting and take away from the point of the video. I think that the lights gave the shot a yellow filter and this could be removed in post production with exposure or during the shoot with a white filter.
Using coloured filters
Here we added coloured filters to the lights as different colours can help convey certain emotions for example red can show anger.
